This course is of special interest for surgeons who do have experience in cataract surgery and want to broaden their spectrum with MICS-surgery and the newer family of Premium- IOL's.
When performing Cataract surgery more and more principles of refractive surgery are included in planing and performing surgical procedures.Theoretical considerations and planning steps are presented followed by practical wet lab excercises. Especially different methods for astigmatism correction are presented and performed during wet lab.
Refractive surgery Patients applying for refractive surgery who are outside limits for corneal surgery do have different options for intraocular surgery. Phakic anterior chamber and posterior chamber lens are discussed, their management and implantation techniques trained in the wet lab.
The recently presented concept of Add-on lenses offers an additional alternative in the broad field of intraocular refractive surgery. Theoretical know how will again be followed by practice in wet lab.
